Cookie Policy

We keep cookies to a minimum. Analytics cookies are only ever set after you agree to them, and you can change your mind at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to report on how a site is used. Some technologies — such as local storage — work similarly but keep data only in your browser and never send it to a server.

Our approach

This site sets no cookies at all unless you accept analytics. Until you make a choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookie is written. Rejecting analytics leaves the site fully functional.

Strictly necessary storage

These are set by us, are essential to how the site behaves, and do not require your consent. They are stored in your browser's local storage — they are not cookies and are never transmitted to us.

Name Purpose Expires
theme Remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Until you clear your browser storage
cookie-consent Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking. Until you clear your browser storage

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-6XND9514LS) to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. The data is pseudonymised, we do not use it to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookie Provider Purpose Expires
_ga Google Distinguishes one visitor from another. 2 years
_ga_<container-id> Google Keeps the session state for Google Analytics 4. 2 years

Google may transfer this information to servers outside the UK. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies. Our Privacy Policy explains the safeguards we rely on for international transfers.

Spam protection on the contact form

The Contact page — and only that page — loads Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell real enquiries apart from automated spam. It runs invisibly: there is nothing to click. It sets a _GRECAPTCHA cookie on Google's domain and collects device and browsing signals to work out a risk score for the submission.

This is a strictly necessary security measure — without it the form would be abused, so it is not covered by the analytics choice above and cannot be switched off separately. We use the score only to decide whether to accept your message, never for advertising or profiling. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that processing.

Changing your choice

You can withdraw or give consent at any time. Use the button below to clear your saved preference — the cookie banner will reappear on your next page view, and any analytics cookies already set will no longer be refreshed.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not break this site. To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
